Master Cylinder Reservoir Cover Fastener Question ('65 A Body)

I don't think either master cylinder is a factory original part on my two '65 A bodies (Formula S and Signet convertible). I was wondering if the factory used a washer of some kind under the bolt that holds the cover on? I don't see a washer on my vehicles. Thank you.

Every 64-66 single master cylinder I’ve owned was the same way. I added a copper washer but honestly don’t think I needed it.

Convert to dual circuit system and get rid of that thing.

No washer or seal on any of the factory ones I've seen.
