matte black hood

The consensus seems to be SEMS Hot Rod Black or John Deere flat black.
Do a search for "black hood paint" in the body forum, there's lots of threads on this.

I did a satin black with a satin clear on top and am able to wash it and use a ceramic coating to keep the dust and grime down. It's not hardcore flat black but looks great and I am not washing it every time I want to go for a drive.

Px8 - with matte clear - Any decent auto paint product should be OK - I think the shop uses Sherwin Williams of all things, but PPG etc. Which ever brand you like should be OK.

Or wrap it
I talked to a local shop about doing it on my Swinger, they said not a problem, but he wasnt sure about the longevity of the cowl area because of the thinness of the grates, not a big area to stick to. So if you dont have a cowl to worry about its a fairly cheap and easy way to get the satin black.
Im going with paint, I dont want to take the chance of it peeling off at the cowl area.

This paint you can use ,Get wax on it, Wipe it when its dusty and does not water spot. Used on all new mustangs its called Black Out.Also matches stripes perfect. I use it on all scoops and spoilers also. 2 coats your done and its durable. bugs and road debris don't hurt it. I also use it on the dash frame

With the glare on the paint can, you cannot see the paint code.
