71 dart. not sure what motor it originally can with. Was not a 340 for sure. When measuring for a new radiator, do you measure between the holes in the core support or ??? Also, need an idea on whether to buy a 3 or 4 core. alum or regular eom style. Engine will be a 5.9 magnum, with the factory f.i. and stock camshaft. I plan on adding an a/c kit later. TIA all.

I bought a 22", 4-row, brass radiator from US Radiator for my '68 Barracuda that originally had a Slant 6 from the factory. The bottom outlet is on the passenger side and the top inlet is on the driver's side.

It fit, and cooled well with 382 RWHP Magnum with a flashed factory OBDII JTEK EFI, A/C and the factory serpentine belt. They offer custom shrouds and electric fans that can fit, but be sure to measure your Thermal Fan's depth etc. I used 5 blade Durango fan with the shortest thermal clutch available, and it was about 1/2" from the fins. There is an 11 blade Durango fan, but it sounded like an airplane prop.

I also had to make an offset custom shroud because the lower radiator hose and the transmission cooler lines were very close to the end of the blades, plus the top of the fan blades were nearly as high as the radiator top(shy about 3/4").

Twin 12 inch fans allow for the water pump snout to clear. Picture is pre-shroud.

So, when you measure a rad, you go header to header, end of fins to end of fins and the core depth. The number of fins/inch, canted or straight tubes, how many tubes (3 row, 4 row) regular or maxi, oh and if it’s an OG chrysler rad, the lower portion of the top tank is a pressed pan OEM, so the rad will usually measure to that seam. Also advise stretching the lower mopar tank as most were offset(big top tank, small lower) that might be it…
