My 4 barrel 318 Demon has been my daily driver for the last 4 years and I put about 50 miles on it a day. She gets about 14 mpg on the street and 19-21mpg on the freeways. I put ten gallons of gas every five or six days and a quart of oil when she needs it. She never whines, never complains, never overheats, never leaves me stranded. Here in Houston it rains from about 2:30-3:00pm every day this time of year so I never really give her much thought as far as car washes, but since she's been good to me, I decided rain or no rain I was gonna clean her up.

I replaced the radiator hoses, cleaned up the engine compartment, replaced EVERY bulb on the car(except for the internal column gear select bulb). I even replace the ignition lamp bulb. Washed her up and gave it a coat of NuFinish.

Took her for a drive afterwards and the car just felt nicer. I had my 5 extra horsepower for the day. (mentally, that is)

Where did you get your last "5 horsepower" from?

The day I put centrelines and race tires on my Dart - it only went faster in my mind I guess as the time slip did not change - even with a lighter wallet - go figure. :banghead:

My 318 barracuda has been my daily driver for about a year and 10months or so now. Rain or shine. It does like to get pampered. I usually get my 'extra hp' from a good day of cleaning/wax. Mines never let me down, *knock on wood* but does manage 9mpg :O . I think it's getting a little jealous that the Duster has been getting worked on a lot lately. And i also get it from uncorking my exhaust, but i haven't felt the extra in awhile...well..since i havent been capping it lol. :angel9:

You just can't beat the readings from your a$$ dyno. :) There's always more HP and Torque on tap when you change something on your car, even if the time slip at the drag strip says differently.
