Heard a poll on Fox TV the other day and was wondering what other members think. Without giving me the politically correct answer. What do you feel is proper or what do you prefer to hear?
1)Merry Christmas?
2)Happy Holidays?

I grew up hearing Merry Christmas.... They can shove politically correct up there A$$...

If it's Christmas Eve or Christmas day... maybe the day after, then Merry Christmas. If it's beyond that range, Happy Holidays since it's not Christmas. You don't tell people Happy Birthday for the entire month of their birthday, so why would anyone say Merry Christmas for the entire month of Jesus's birthday?

PS MERRY CHRISTMAS goes until 12/31 THEN its HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

AND YES people do wish me a Happy Birthday most if not all and some a lil before and some a lil after the month of October.... ALL GOOD BY ME!! been happening for 58 years.... I like it all

Your comments supports the Fox poll. They found 91% prefer Merry Christmas. So why do we cave in to the 9% that have a problem with it?

First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone.

Because we are being run by the patients in the asylum! Majority no longer applies, the lunatic fringe now makes the rules.

Merry Christmas for me.I don't even use X-mas.

X as an abbreviation for Christ has been in use for over 1600 years in churches. It comes from the Greek chi and rho symbols (from early Bibles) that look like an X (used for Christ in Greek). It didn't start out as "taking Christ out of Christmas" as some people like to claim. Although, maybe some use it that way today, I don't know. But it's not inherently a bad thing.

its Merry Christmas in the midwest, thats for sure, and by the way MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

EXACTLY!!!! WHO in the HELL cares what those 9% think? they seem to have their fingers into just about everything and they seem to make the rules as they go...... personally I say F'CK EM, and I mean FK EM ALL!!! they are the reason no one opens the door for your Mom or your wife....they are at the source of the words POLITICALLY CORRECT...and I am fairly certain that MOST of them work in HR formerly known as "Person ell " typically comprised of people with some sort of socialization issue and a definite Axe to grind along with a healthy dose of Napoleon Syndrom....so they try to make everyone adhere to their IDIOTIC RULES that they make up as they go along ODDLY enough and coincidental as it is, most of them are female and of that group a large percentage are either very homely, DYKE-IE, prestigiously overweight and educated just enough to be dangerous BUT not enough to see that what they are doing is a ridiculous waste of life and time......
I make a point of going OUT of my way to say nice things regardless of the rules these idiots have attempted to put into place.....NOT ONE single women outside of work I have called honey or sweetie or darlin in a nice way has ever said ANYTHING combative in return .... FUnny how that is
