Stopped by Oldmanmopar's place today to buy some goodies for my '71 Demon Project.

Found an ad online and when I called I didn't even know he was also on here, Made the arrangements to meet up Saturday morning since the boss/my dad wanted to pick up a TV in Philly, and some parts elsewhere, etc. So I hauled in some junk (about 5 tons of it, my old D300 Dumptruck didn't break a sweat though, happily hummed along at 65 mph with the whine of the NP435 and the engine pulsing.) And had more cash than I originally planned on having.

But I wasn't about to drive a 1975 318/435/Dana 70 D300 Dumptruck with 4.88 gears on a trip like that, so i borrowed a friend's Cheby 3500 Boxtruck.... 150 miles from home (return trip) the secondary battery started to smoke (at the fuel pumps none the less! Quickly disconnected the battery), followed by the turbo crapping out once we got back on the highway.. Should have taken my dodge instead, lol!

So, I got myself a '71 Grille (with Bezels & Turn Signals/Parking Lights), a Tail Panel & Tail Lights, A pair of Door Emblems that weren't broken (like mine were). Oldmanmopar pulled out a huge stack of emblems and told me to pick the ones i liked best.

And then we talked for about an hour while i drooled over his huge collection of parts and line up of cars. Also, his Display Picture doesn't do that Duster the justice it deserves. It is simply marvelous in person.

But the boss had a deadline to meet, so i had to cut the visit short, and we were back on the road after a firm handshake to finish the deal up proper. I'll be going back in the near future (with less scheduled "stops" that day) to get myself a Rallye Cluster for my Demon, a Set of Rallye Mirrors, Some 4-Speed goodies, and so forth. Oh and my dad wanted to go again, to get a Rallye Cluster for his Duster too.

All in All, I spent about 10 Hours of driving today, Left at 3:30am, didn't make it home until 4pm... And never left the state of Pennsylvania :wack: Well worth the trip though. Got my Demon parts, My dad got a Big Screen TV and some parts for a customer's car in the Paint Booth at the moment, etc.

I was very happy with the parts, and they were priced just right too :D

Some dents in the Tail Panel, but that was so easy to fix, took me maybe 10 minutes last night to get it smooth again. The Grille is easy to fix too, I have enough left from my FUBAR Grille to make a donor section. I was going to Plastic Weld it, but Old Man Mopar suggested some plastic glue available at Autozone. Said once it's on there you can't break it, and i'm always willing to try a suggestion that ends in "you can't break it" :D

Besides, I think my plastic welder is out of "rods" anyway, which reminds me i've gotta order some more of those.

In hindsight, I probably should have drove my D50 instead.

It's a fugly little critter, but at least i know i could have drove it home without any problems. Unfortunately i've got 1 wiper speed (slow) because i can't find where i put the wiper delay module :banghead: It's hiding in a box somewhere in one of my garages.

This is the first I saw this thread . I noticed the tail panel and realized who you were. I have a complete unitized front, Cleaned and Ready to install. You make the drive you can have it. It will make your project alot easier. I also have nice floors you cut them out you can have them also. I have the saws you bring the blades. also a 4 spd hump. There is a complete 1970 340 4spd shell here rust free floors and rails. As soon as they are gutted they are going to the crusher. Call me you have my number. I got alot more cars since you were here. I see you really are serious about this project by taking something this bad on. I would like to help you do this car the right way. I will give you all the rust free used sheet metal you need so you don't have to fab your parts. I know you'll buy other parts once the body is ready. Again call me Steve.

PS. Say what you want about my Duster on this thread, But please do not reveal its ET's. Thanks Steve

The unitized front is from a 74 360 car. The rails and inners are solid. The blue 1970 340 4spd Duster had a complete bucket seat interior. I took the rears and panels out and they are still here. front seats and Rally dash are still in. Door panels and rear seats are perfect front seats need covers. All 4spd stuff is in the trunk. The Smashed pink 1970 340 4spd Duster I told you about will be here Sunday . That car was Hit hard in the back but the. nose. doors and interior are perfect. Bench seat interior though . Someone stole the Heads , intake and wheels at the tow yard. In the pic below this is only light surface rust on the floor. The dark area on the left side is still blue paint as well. I also heve a red auto 340 Duster here with nice floors. The Rust free 340 4spd. Demon shell you saw that came off a rotisary is also availible to you. But I can't give it for free.
