Hi All.

My name is Daryl and i am new to the A-bodies.
i have a R3 W9 engine makes 730 on pump just a street car.
it has a profom electric water pump. thats is not pumping what
it should. i got a csr for it but the water outlet was on the wrong
side so it returned and got a 100 series meziere pump.
i never got the backing plate as i throught what i had on the engine
would be ok. as you know there are 4 bolts to hold the pump on to
the backing plate. on the proform the 2 bolts across the top are about
8 1/2 inchs apart. on the meziere they are only about 7 inchs apart
so i need the meziere backing plate whick i can get..my question is
how will those those 4 bolts now bolt in to my timing cover chain.
as i said the proform was about 1 1/2 wider across. there are
threaded holes for the four bolts now but what happens as far as i
know there are only the two bolt holes on each side that the proform
is now bolted to. doe's the meziere one come with with a threaded
part there so the bolts will screw in to it. or can you bolt the pump to
the plate before fitting it to the engine. or what do you do.
any help would be great.
Regards Daryl.
