....have seen more then one member ask about how to keep them out of their hot rod when it is stored over the winter...lot of folks suggest a bar of soap...thing is it does not always work...I put this bar of soap under the hood of our Dart before dropping it off at a friends house in AZ, when I moved up to Washington I left it there for a few months... I effing hate mice! Any rodents really. I have two fears heights and mice/rats.
I have heard that peppermint oil will keep them away for a while. they have a extremely sensitive sense of smell and the peppermint is just too strong. But you have to keep it fresh

I have not seen any traces of mice in years because Gritty Kitty does his job.

Bait blocks don’t keep them out but they do get rid of that mouse.

Irish Spring soap didn't work for me. They ate it up like it was a treat just like in your picture. I've had them die in my walls also from eating rat poison so I'm leary of that too! I think a cat is your best option. When I had them the mice didn't stand a chance!

I Put dryer sheets and freshcab packets in all 4 corners of my race car trailer.....they ate and made nests in both of them....im contemplating some of those "electronic pulse " things....but they may be snake oil too.

There are cedar chip packets as well. Heard they work. fresh cab if i recall is good for about 4 months. In a race trailer, would need 6 pouches. Or more.

I made a bucket trap and check it regularily. Here in winter they get caught and freeze. In summer, an inch of water and they drown.
                  I hate them too.

Dryer sheets on the inside, moth balls on the outside. Knock on wood never a problem.

REGULAR OLD MOUSE AND RAT TRAPS , with peanut butter as bait , always put a short piece of a toothpick jammed in the trigger before adding the peanut butter, will soak up the taste and give them something to pull on , ---works everytime , and instant death , way more humane than sticky traps or poison .

I have used antifreeze and the non dissolving packing peanuts with some success. I am curious if it works for anyone else or how they get it to work better.

Make the entrance hole to the bucket a couple inches below the lip of the bucket.
As far as spring traps go... superglue a "Sugarbaby" to the trigger. No reloading and they go for it like crack cocaine.

I just put a ''No mice allowed'' sign in there and it works for me.

The best trap I inadvertently made was some unclean, empty, wine bottles. They were stored upright in a cardboard box. They were in a not very secure shed and it stunk horribly before I found out was going on. Six bottles, six mice. One in each. I have not tried to reproduce the situation since.

Repellex, comes in a 25# tub for35 bucks. spread it under and around car. keeps them out and is non-toxic
a tub last a long time ,it only takes a few pounds.
It's better to repel than it is to feed them.

bait to mice is like candy to a kid. the mice will keep coming if the property is surrounded by field or any area where mice frequent the outdoors.

I hate mice. Live outdoors and all is well. Come inside and it's war. I use the bucket and ramp with the Rolling Wheel Of Death in both the shop and garage. Peanut butter is your friend!
