Hey guys looking at getting a 825 Barry Grant mighty demon vacuum secondaries carb. This will be going on a 383 stroker, full build specs still unknown. I have heard varying opinions on these carbs, can some of you experts give me some info, good or bad with your experiences on these. Thanks.

Save your money and buy a Holley !!! You will b a lot happier and further ahead ! Trust me I had one and punted it down the road 2 months later, was lucky to sell it!

I just came off the dyno with a low deck 426 build, 383 block with a 440 crank! Motor made 520 ho and 552 tq! I am running an AED 750HOM carb! Will flow 830 cfm! Motor only used 630 cfm on the dyno as well so don't over carb your combo!

Thanks Fish, I followed your build and am doing about the same. Good job on it, that thing is going to be badass. About the Demons, what makes them so hard to tune, why is it different from a Holley?

I want to know too. I have a 750 race Demon on my 440 and it runs awesome. I have seen Demons for sale but not sure if I should go for it.

Out of the box, my 825 MD have a small cup full of aluminum fillings in it i sat there with tiny tools and drill bits running through everything. call to Demon got me nowhere and was told that has never happened before? lolol. Bottom line there was a stumble on the dyno and in the car that we could never get out.Running a different Carb, an 850 holly DP on the dyno smartened everything up and gained about 35 more hp than the Demon at the time. My Demon was a dbl pumper as well. I though well i will try to sort it out in the car, no luck, so i got rid of it. Bought a prosystems carb and the problems went away.

Thats just my story, maybe i got a lemon? But i am not a fan of those carbs, and have seen may others have similar issues.

Scrap the demon idea and the holley idea and get something even better.
A Quick Fuel super street series 780cfm vaccum secondary carburetor would be better then a mighty demon or a holley hp in my opinion.
I run a Quick Fuel super street series 680cfm vaccum secondary carburetor on my 360 magnum and it is the best carburetor I have ever owned by far.
They come with billet base plates, billet metering blocks, changeable idle air bleeds changeable high speed bleeds, changeable idle feed restrictors, changeable power valve channel restrictors. Tuning is virtually unlimited with a super street series Quick Fuel. And they are cheaper then a mighty demon by about 100 bucks.
