I'm after some pictures of the steering link in relation to the milodon oil pan. Does anybody have any measurements say from the top of the steering link to the bottom of the pan, front of the link to the pan. I'm looking at doing a rack conversion which places it in almost the exact position as the steering link but obviously the rack is a bit thicker in dimension and just want to know how close it will be, going off my measurements and a few pics i've seen it looks tight.
So I'm after some pics like this one, showing the gap between the top of the link and the bottom of pan etc. It is a bit hard to guess the gap with the angle on this pic.

Hope someone can help, Dave.

I can give you a rough estimate tomorrow. I'd be interested in seeing how you are going to mount the rack in that location, I've thought about doing it. It may not be possible with the torsion bars as close as they are.

Thanks Stacked that would be appreciated. Someone over here developed a system that you run wings off the back of the k-frame which you mount the steering rack to. My father has this system on his a-body and I have the standard system on mine, however he runs a hemi 6, but I'm putting the new hemi in. By looking at that picture I uploaded height seems to be the only doubt at this stage. I may have to put in some spacer plates under the engine mount insulators depending on the clearance.

I don't have any measurements, but it seems like there was a ton of room (going off memory here) I'll see if I can get some pics next weekend once my ladder bars and coilovers are tacked in place and the car gets moved on the lift for final welding. And I will get some pics with a tape measure for you so you can see exactly how much room there is. That is if no one responds before then.

That would be awesome thanks ramit, also thanks Stacked for that rough measurement give's me a basis to work off. Cheers Dave

My steering linkage is just kind of hanging there off of the idler arm, I pulled it up until it met the pitman arm on the steering box and took a measurement to the bottom of the pan from the top of the linkage.

man I forot to get back with you. I have 1.5 inches fron the pan down to the center link. And about 2.125from the sump back to the centerlink. I'll try and post pics in the morning for you.
