MmMmM 904 questions.

Well craigslist came threw for me once again. I found a 904 tranny that was rebuilt about 13 years ago for $300 bucks it was completely overhauld. Here are the specs.
1. Over haul kit
2. Wide ratio planet
3. 5 Clutch high drum
4. 2nd gear band
5. Turbo action valve body
6. Deep aluminum tranny pan
7. Mopar apply arm

Im not to to tranny savvy my dad can rebuild them he does all of ours. But im not sure what exactly A wide ratio planet is? Also do you think I got a pretty good deal?

Sounds like maybe it has the low first gear set in it. It would be 2.77:1 instead of 2.55:1, Secon gear stays the same I believe making it a wider ratio.

Thanks for the info thats what me and my dad were hoping so it would launch harder. This is going behind my 408 when I get it finished. Forgot to mention this tranny was rebuilt that long ago and never installed.

Just keep an eye on the converters snout. The break with a good amount of power. Its the biggest problem with 904s.
