Mod Top

that doesn't mean it didn't happen tho eh ! We see all sorts of sorts of cars that were never supposed to have existed .There were gold and I believe bronze cars along with the standard green , red , blue , yellow .

I thought it would be cool if a vinyl designer could recreate a mod top in Purple and black.
 
Never would happen, not even a on special order. There was no Floral or Mod Top vinyl that would even remotely go with purple!
 
Are you asking if it ever was or just thinking about having it done?
 
Well I want to do a vinyl top on my car and thought a mod top would be cool and unique. So I googled mod top, but didn't see any colors contrasting with Purple.

So I wondered if ma ever made one. So now I am wondering of a sign shop could reproduce the design with purple and black. Might be cool.

No, you buy the top in white and have them print on the vinyl just like they do for wraps. Then you install it.

I owned an Auto Upholstery business back in the 80s doing thousands of vinyl tops, and do a lot of graphic art design and printing now using all kinds of materials. I had discussed just this concept with one of my vehicle wrap printers a few months ago and he was sure he could print on a vinyl top.
 
Yes, my wife works for a sign shop and it's pretty amazing what they can print on. The graphic artists there are pretty talented.
