Parts? I build the wheels and I cut the chassis to tub them.

These are are just some random (and by far not the best)
of probably dozens I've done.

I've also taken all of the M.I.C '70's Pro-Stocks and made
them look correct. Also build my own headers out of solder
and aluminum tubing.

Compare the before and after:

Notice on the chassis comparison how the front wheels are taller, skinnier and tucked into the
chassis with a narrowed track. Notice how the driveshaft has been sleeved and looks straighter and more robust.

The rear tires, of course, are much wider and taller and are well tucked in.

The headers, as mentioned, are scratch built.

O my god I LOVE the 68 Darts! I have always loved the 68 super stock darts and those are badass!
 
A few other "corrected" cars.

Note that when you look at, for instance, the wheels on the
California Flash Duster that these are not "out of the package"
GMP accessory wheels; the finished item is much larger. I only
used the centers from their wheels and the rest are pieced together.
I have to buy a whole other car just to get the back tires, the front
tires are custom pieces and the back rims end up being made of 4 seperate pieces.

Wow John...I had no idea you were so creative they look great...I wish they made a 70 Dart swinger 340 in Go Mango, I'd love to get one for Dad.

Ross, I've got yellow and plum crazy. I'll let you know if I ever see
an orange one. You might have to paint one (winter project).
 
Saw the link on a FB page and had to check it out. I hardly have time to get online anymore.
 
Sorry, it's a Ford, but for illustrative purposes it has side-by-side
before and after chassis shots. This is a GMP 427 Fairlane and it
has a very heavy all-metal chassis (no plastic and hard to cut).

You can see the headers vs. stock exhaust, the wheels & tires,
of course, with the size and placement of the fronts just as important
as the rears and the replacement of the leaf springs with coil overs
and links.

The front tires and wheels are Cragars from a Lane Exact Detail Street
StalkerZ set and the rears use the tire and inner wheel from a radio control
car that is sadly no longer available along with Street StalkerZ
centers and outer wheel lips cut from another type of GMP wheel.

Those things are unbelievable, great job John. Of course I'm sure you know which one is my favorite.
 
where did you get the 70 dart at ive been lookin for one for a long time
 
Didn't you do one of Denny's car. Any pics?
Not yet. I built the engine and wheels over a year ago but it's stuck in
the "paint & body" stage. Maybe this winter.

Now go over to Yellow Bullet and hit me back.
