New member.....My 68 Barracuda 408 currently runs 10.90 / 122 in Vegas, 1.48 /60 ft, with a 4.88 gear and 28 inch M/T slicks. 4k stall and TB. The rear has SS springs and I'm thinking about going to a Cal tracs system. Does anyone have any good or bad history on this.

There is a thread at the top of the page about Caltracs..

I'll let the more experienced guys comment on the Caltracs.

That said, your 60' times look real good to me for a 10.90/122 car. :thumbrig:

I actually think you may be a little over geared with the 28" tires & 4.88's?

Oh, and welcome to FABO!

Hi Walt....

Put those headers on our 71 Duster this morning.....not entirely ready to start it....

kind of curious what your trap rpm is running those 4.88s?

7200 rpm, the motor is new and I have not had a chance yet to get to a chassis Dyno yet to check my shift points. The 4:88 are from the previous motor. I am suspecting I will end up with a 4.56 or 4.30. Thanks.

they fit just fine.......have not started the motor up yet....was kind of hot for a few days...and now I am out town for a few days....so I will get it started in a few days...lol

I run a 29.5 tall tire and currently have 4.3 gears. It's pulling my small block down bad on the top end. I have some 4.56 gears, but that's like only a 4 percent difference so I'm currently leaning toward 4.88. Sucks that I'll have to change spools to run that gear. mo money mo money mo money!
