Mopar 8 3/4 open 3.23

What is a 8 3/4 open 3.23 no housing. And out of the 2 or 3 size housing is this the smaller or larger unit?

If its a 742 housing that would be the large pinion type. The 741 is the small pinion. 489 is a large tapered pinion type that was used on '69 and later rears. 742 was '68 and earlier.
