Hey everyone. I was comparing distributors the other day..MSD, Mallory, Prestolite..etc as well as the Mopar Performance distributor kit P3690426. It claims to have a better advance curve over stock and better spark output. Just curious if anyone has tried this kit/distributor and would personally recommend it. IT will be going on a fairly built 340 (375-400 HP). I would rather spend the money on a Mopar part if its worth it. Any info will be great!

Thanks

I personally have used the Mopar P3690426 and the race unit w/o the vacuum advance for over 20 years without a problem but then again the P3690426 that I used, I put a MSD Cap-Adapt on to it because of an article I read by Dr. Chris Jacobs. For those who are or are not familiar with Jacobs, Jacobs holds patents on many of other electronic companies products including MSD and the Spiral Core plug wires.

So generally why did you switch the cap to the MSD. Did the motor run any different before...I have an older stock Chrysler dist. right now.

I use the same set up with the chrome box and it works very well. No problems...

I read an article that Dr.Chris Jacobs wrote regards to adding the wider cap from Ford or MSD nd did what he suggested and it worked flawlessly.
