I have a MP purple shaft cam that I pulled out of a 340 that I didn't know mutch about. How can I find out what this cam is??? I found the following numbers on it: 1136 760310 and on the back it has a green line and a blue and white dot on the back of it??? I've heard that MP had a color chart to tell what cam was what? Thanks for any help.

try this. grab yourself a dial caliper and measure the base circle then measure the base circle and lobe. subtract the two and muliply by 1.5 for total lift. find a mopar engine manual or a catalog and look it up.

Hard to say off those numbers, I have an old catalog of the old numbers somewhere, but I think that cam is now similar to this one according to the numbers I can cross over.

Purple Shaft Cam
Adv. Duration: .268°/272°
Dur. @ .050'': 228°/231°
Lift: .450''/.455''
Centerline: 110°
Basic RPM: 1500-5800 RPM

Maybe go to a Dodge dealer and see if they can put those numbers into the computer for a search?

But I would measure it for the lift that will give you an idea of the model in terms of lift.

bob hit the nail on the head. measure a couple in case its a dual pattern.
