:(
Just an FYI for you about the fuel sender, Wolf isn't the cheapest rebuilder but I believe he is one of the best. I've personally experienced his work on 4 other cars that had tried to use the after market senders to no avail. Please don't think that the cheaper Chinese junk is the way to go.

Just an FYI for the group or anyone else interested in it, I guess they don’t rebuild sending units anymore! I had sent them an email and John let me know.

Yea, that is a real bummer. His work was very meticulous & all 4 of the units that I had done worked as factory.

Look into "Tristar radiator", a friend used them & is very happy with the results.

Keep your old fuel sending unit, you will not like the new one. They don't work without meter match. Have your old one reconditioned if necessary. You won't be disappointed. Instrument Specialties is another choice for your sending unit. They also restore Instrument panels. If you really think that you are going to paint it, and money isn't an issue, do it first, then you won't have to take it apart twice.

In my youth I worked in the 'well used' car sales industry. When a car came in with lots of oxidation, we washed it down with comet and rubbed it down with used motor oil. They really shined until it rained. Sold a lot of old cars that way. It appears you have a lot work to do. Take it a little at a time and enjoy it. There nothing like the feeling you get after making something out a car in that condition.

Good Find you have plenty of work ahead of you but I am sure like the rest of us gear heads it will be worth it,Good Luck
Joe

I guess I would have to see that to believe it, I have 2 of them. Took 2 to find out that they don't work.

Dam the luck it appears that the drivers door has had a respray.
Oh well its still way too cool.
Good luck

The sun is certainly brutal where you live, here in Michigan even junk yard cars don't sustain interior damage like that. On the other hand here in Michigan the only good body part left on the car is the padded dash:) The rest of the body is see through like lace curtains, maybe even a tree growing up through the floor between the seats.

Maybe I just lucked out, but the sending unit I bought from Classic Industries works great.
They sell Spectra, that's why. OER is reboxed Spectra as well. Spectra is good quality stuff. I've used many of their fuel senders and they always read spot on.

Hey everyone!! I’ll try to post in another more relevant part of the forum once I find but does anyone have the original kickdown/linkage for these 318s they’re willing to part with? I have everything from like the rod down? But need everything from 2 forward in the diagram. I hate to pull and replace everything if there’s a few pieces I can locate instead? I added the diagram pic and mine to try to give you an idea. TIA! Got the gas tank and sending unit all swapped! Happy to pay for parts and shipping to CA 93637
