I looked around and couldn't find any info on this in the forums.

Just wondering who might be going to English town raceway for the mopars at Etown weekend. I will be there hopefully with the car..

It is competing with the Vernon CT show but think I will be going to NJ instead.

Aug 25th-26th with test and tune on the 24th.

Used to go every year back in the 70's and 80's. Haven't been there since 1986. It was always a great show, though.

I've been in the past and it was good, but I heard that attendance was down these past years, If you go, please let us know how it is. Have Fun!

i live an hour away and no way and i going to that abortion of an event. they ruined it and turn out is very slim. if they still want to have that dead show they should turn it into a one day event.

do yourself a favor and save the money it would cost driving to jersey and go to the conn show. e-town has been dead for years. they just refuse to admit it.

Geez... What a sin, that is. They used to have some great shows there. When did it go down hill, and what caused it?

years ago it died. mid 90's maybe. been a long time now.. start of the down fall was when the tax man came through. after that the idiots that run the show never made adjustments as carlisle grew and grew. the guys at e-town were so arrogant that they thought they were the best game in town and dropped the ball and allowed carlisle to blow them out of the water.

Ahhh.... ego. Geez! what a shame.

Englishtown is on the same weekend Aug. 25th-26th

I hope that it isn't all that bad.. Wonder why they are so cocky and don't do something with the event.. Seems like it would be a great location to have something really big. Hell can't race at Carlisle which is why my friend wants to go. He has a sweet 660hp pump gas runner that will do 10's and he hasn't had it on the track this year was hoping to bring it down there. I will really have to give it a lot of thought as to if I will even make the trek..

Thanks for the heads up if I go and it sucks you can always say I told you so and bust my cookies..

I hope they got their crap together, and it doesn't suck for those who do attend. I remember it being a really great show back in the day.

the son's took over the track when their father either got. sick or even passed on is what I heard.

Seeing as best parts would be on Saturday, drive down early do the show and swap and and watch races. If you think it will be better on Sunday, stay or come to the Vernon show!!!!!!

I used to go every year, and trailer my superbird down there, back in the eighties, and early ninties, but that show sucks now, with the poor attendance. I'll go to Vernon sense I live close.

The facilities are really good. Not much of a sbow but if your racing its great. I am racing sunday.

Well, I remember that Etown was one of the premier track on the NHRA circuit, at one time. Like I said, I haven't been there since 1986, so I can't attest to the condition of the track, or comment on the quality of the show, other than to lament what is being said about it here.
If the track is still good, the racing should be sweet. It used to be an excellent track to run.

Last time I was there was for the shake down and actually other than 10.5" tire cars were running 1/8 mile not 1/4 the racing was good and the track seemed to be hooking pretty good. Maybe take my buddies car and race then come home sat night and go to Vernon. Vernon is Sunday right not sat the 25th?
