this Sunday June 24th is Mopars at the Patch Island Dragway Great Meadows N.J. Info at Island Dragway.com
If enough people supported the Mopar event it would be closed to other makes same with other events but people don't and that's why they open it to test and tunes to have additional income especially now with a new septic system being installed at a huge cost. The Fairmont was actually a 9 second car owned by a friend of mine, he had the car for over twenty years and luckily wasn't injured except for some bruising he purchased another Fairmont in Texas and is building another one. I have been racing there for over thirty years and understand that they don't have to have the Mopar event at all especially with the low support and attendance and feel fortunate that they do. The more the merrior as they say, so come support Mopars at the Patch. I will be there with my Dart and D150.Hopefully, it's not a typical Island deal where it's a Mopar show, but they let other makes in, so they can rake in more money. They did that last fall at a motorcycle event...let cars run. It screwed up the motorcycle event, when a 10 second Fairmont rolled it at the top end. 2 hours of track cleanup, for something rhat shouldn't have even been there.
Well Mopars at the Patch didn't work out so well as it rained just before class qualifying. Attendance was low but I understand the weather was iffy my friend was supposed to run my D150 in Bracket 3 but I didn't bring it as I don't like driving it in the rain with the drag radials. Thanks to all that did come. I am going to speak with the trackIf enough people supported the Mopar event it would be closed to other makes same with other events but people don't and that's why they open it to test and tunes to have additional income especially now with a new septic system being installed at a huge cost.
