For you 360 Ford FE lovers. Bore block 30, deck block 22, resize bushed 360 Ford rod small end from .9752 to .9842 (mopar size), use UEM 340 pistons for a gain of 64 thou AND a more price/available choice of ring, instead of that 5/64 3/32 3/16 thing. Shocker was the balance. At 2317.3 bob weight. Fill in a front and rear factory balance hole and go from needing only 24 more grams front and 15 more grams rear to a final .3g front .3g rear. SCE head gaskets, 48 thou quench.

360 FE crank? My dads built several FE's. Good engines, I always liked them. He currenly has a 410 Merc ready for a 68 Mustang Fastback he is building.

So you used some Silverlight cast 340 Pistons that use a 5/64 ring in your 360 fe

Big block Fords make my little pecker get hard.

You can knock at least 5 grams off the pistons with some hand ground massaging .
So your rotating assembly got heavier than stock by 24.3 grams but picked u
2 points compression ?

Now that this has been created, knowing where improvements could exist, the balance pad on the big end of the con rod has ample meat on it. That is where, say about, 10 grams could of been removed, which would factor into being 20 grams for a "bob weight" calculation, about. This then could of been practically an as-is drop-in conversion. Then could have been factory identical weight. Note factory was only 9 grams out front to rear from the get go, not bad. Here it is after filling in 1 front and 1 rear stock hole, now weight needs removed, 7g front 14g rear, but note the clocking position of where, totally doable.

So all in all, what ios the build for? Most or all 360 were in trucks. What heads are going on it? I will be cool to see the finished product.

Going in a truck F100. ALL stock, just improving on the 7.5 to 1 stock compression. Someone doing a 352 could do this, use a used stock hp 340 piston, which is 25 thou taller than the UEM choice, no decking needed. Bore the block 40. Instant pepe 352.
