Motor size?

Going to look at a Ramcharger today,friend of mine told me about it.He does not know fore sure what year or motor but smallblock and early 70's.Motor has aftermarket int and carb,says body is sad but price is right,going to use motor and part the rest if I get it.Question is where exactly do you look to find the motor size?I know where to look on a bb but haven't really messed with sb.

Underneath the head on the front of the block drivers side. Scrape it off and use a wire brush to clean it up. Bring a flash light.

couldn't make out anything front of block below head,will have to try a vin decode.Also turns out its a power wagon 150

Look at the dampner..If it has a slot cut out on the face it's a 360. If it is solid and smooth all the way around it is a 318.

Agree!!! The #s cast on drs side above starter. No #s to look up. Will have a big 318 or 360 cast rite on block. Very Very easy. 1 min w/ a flashlight
