mounting gauges on the cowl?

anyone mount there gauges outside on the cowl? how do they hold up in rain? Pics if possible.
I am contemplating this to keep the mechanical oil pressure gauge outside.

Only one I have mounted on cowl is my fuel pressure guage. I sealed it up real well with silicone before I mounted it. My car sees very little rain but I wash it every week and I haven't had any problems with it.My previous guage would get moisture in it and fog the glass up

thanks mine will be a daily driver in the summer. so it will probably see alot of rain in the summer.
