Throwing together a 318 for my truck. It's a 68 .040 over 318 with 4027163 heads with smog ports plugged. Pistons are .040 down so I am using the thin gaskets. Block and heads are not milled that I know of, so I am aware it's a gamble, but the truck is a back burner project and I have a set of Felpro 8553's for backup. If the 1121's leak it will be an annoyance, but I already have them so I will give it a shot. I hear they need to be torqued in three steps... what values and sequence? Any lube?
All holes tapped and cleaned.

I would use copper coat, a couple coats and bolt them down in sequence, look in the book, I use
30, 60, 95.

I put the 1121g gaskets on dry....just clean the hell out of the deck and head surface....torque in factory sequence

As long as you know that the deck and the heads are perfectly flat you wont have a problem.
