I have a high RPM SMALLBLOCK, uses a MSD 6AL through Mallory YL series distributor,Mallory Coil with Pertonix pick-upbox.This set up has worked perfect for 3 years no problems.Problems occur as soon as I connect the 3 Stage retard control box.Engine will fire and seems to run ok untill around 3k then everything turns bad, severe missing and even loading up.As a test I removed the retard stages from ground while idling and they do have an effect on the engine.Dis-connecting the retard control box restores perfect ignition.
MSD were not very helpful(especially since I live in New Zealand) and said coil interference?Everything is new ,spiral leads,cap, etc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
