:salute: question for  ya'll? the ballist resister is not needed with the msd 6al can i hook the two wires together from the ballist resister and plug it into the red wire coming out of the voltage regultor.it had a smaller wire pluged into it from the ballist resister?

You can just leave the two original ballast wires hanging, no need to connect them. I ended up using mine to trigger firing my msd. One of the ballast wires is hot in 'start' other is hot in 'run'.

For my switched power wire to the MSD I would come off of the ign1 and ign2 and joing them and then go to the small red wire on the MSD. That will give you hot in start and run

 So i'm thinking there is a constant flow of current going through the ballist with motor running correct.where do ya'll have the egnition side of the voltage regulater hooked to.

You can tie that power in off of the same lead that is going to the small red wire on the MSD box.

If you are going to remove the ballast resistor you need to put a jumper between the two connectors or you will wind up with power to turn it on only in the "start" or only in the "run" position in either case your engine will not start or won't stay running.

MSD provides a pigtail wire in the kit just for jumping those together with the third connections for the small red wire from the MSD.
