I was at track sunday ran an 8.01 in1/8th. Another mopar racer that was trying to help me get into 7s. Told me to try by passing ballast resistor cause msd dist. had one built in.We tried it disconnected and nothing we made up some jumper wires to by pass it and it sounded a little crisper but still did not not get into 7s. Anyone ever heard of doing this,Kevin.

Msd is a capacitor setup.the more voltage in ,the better. 1 v in,5ooo more on secondary side. Usually I hide the Mopar wiring ,run the MSD seperately.Runs better,if you have compression/big heads, you would be shocked at the difference over a normal ignition system.

Yup. What they said. You may find that by going a little richer (jet size or two depending on your tune) you may go faster with the MSD too with no ill affects.

My MSD is wired in just like it shows on the bottom of the unit. No ballast resister there. Works fine up to the 7000 RPM pill.

Like said, play with jetting/timing & pump shots, your right there, whats your set-up & MPH & 60fts.?
