Anyone have mud dauber wasps setup house in the bolt holes and water passages of a stored block?
A guy has a 340 block for sale says they have moved into a block he has for sale. If it was hot tanked to get the mud out, I guess it would be OK?

I would suspect that the hot tank and chasing ALL the passages would take care of it. call the machine shop, I'm sure they have seen this before.

That would be a "Scat pack" not an issue unless your a GM or Ford guy !

Yep, those things are harmless but will build a mud home almost anywhere. Even a garden hose will clean them out.

I bought a used carb and several of the openings were filled!

Never ran 440, had a mud dauber nest under performer manifold. Sprayed it with WD before cleaning it off.

I had a customer call who had a motor that wouldn't turn over a full revolution. He ended up pulling the head and found a mud nest on top of the piston.

I personally had the start of a nest in the secondary of a holley 780 this summer.

I say clean it out, should be fine.
