Well , I am chipping away at this project. Started with building a 440, then found a candidate ! A 69 Dart custom. Was used as a street/strip car by the PO. Cleaned and por15 the whole nose and Undercarriage from the front of the car to just at the tank ( still have some to go) Switched out the 488s for some 355s. SG,
Then, all new brake cyl , lines , hoses ...
So , today was the big day.
Swung the 440 and 727 in today.
And yes it is a snug fit like everyone said it would be.

How the heck did you get that in there? Did you have mods to the steering column or anywhere else? My 69 Custom has beat down headers to fit. Just curious.

You gonna run headers ? Might have to cut the tops of the lower row of head studs down for clearance . Ask me how I know !------lol

Been away for a while.
Anyway ,
Small block K frame ( notched on driver side for oil pump clearance )
Schumacher mounts
Found a set of shumacher headers
727 trans .....
work in progress.

I did have to mod the steering column about 1 1/2. Collar hit the headers. Disassembled column and trimmed the collar and installed a new bearing at the end. Came out nice.
Couldn’t “ ding” the headers cause they were so dam expensive.

Pics are before the steering column mod. I can take “ aftermod” pics if that would help.
