my 76 new yorker

brake lights stopped working .
but some times when i hit the brake pedal the dome light and map light come on
odd to me any help thanks

When my barracuda did this, it needed a taillight bulb.

i would first check the fuse, then I would check the tail light harness grounds . I believe the hazards are on the same circuit so you might see if they work, if not replace the relay. you can bypass the brake light switch with a piece of wire at the connectors and see if the lights work. do your running lights work
