My build sheet vin says its a slant 6 "B" engine, the dashpad vin says its a "G" 318 engine. NOW the predicament. I removed the /6 not knowing this and put in a 318. I can still get ahold of the /6 so anyone have any idea of what this may do to the value? Excited but scared.
 
Decode the fender tag and the VIN and the built sheetto be 100% on the actual specs.Unless it,s a special order car,its still a /6 car and not big end item.Do all the fender tag and VIN match and the rad support and build sheet,to make sure its a true legal mistake.I can decode the sheet and tag and vin if you need it,Mrmopartech
 
The vin on the dash says its a "G" 318. The fender tag and build sheet says its a "B" slant 6. All the other numbers match but the engine code.

I can get the original 198 /6. The guy I sold it to still has it. What size is the one you have? My car even has the 198 cu. in. sticker on the wheel well. This is strange.
 
Sounds like it`s a misstamped vin but being a /6 car it`s proabaly worth more with the v8 left in it.
