1974 Scamp 360 and 727 factory floor shift. Manual steering.
Was gonna make a few more passes at the track with manifolds, but its closed for who knows how long. And when your quarantined in your shop might as well do something fun. And document the process. Other stuff I could do, but they're sitting there calling my name. Got the bolts out of the manifolds, and the steering disassembled this afternoon. About 2 hours so far. Will start taking pictures tomorrow.

We shall see. Did your install go okay? A few on here have had issues but mostly good reviews.
I had them put in because I had no place to do it at the time. He claimed they went in easier than most and the fit is really nice. 1 dimple right where it gets close to the steering coupler and that could be due to the mounts being a bit old or motor not being completely centered. I have a 71 Swinger 6cyl car using a 74 K frame and complete 318 drivetrain out of the same 74.

So far so good.

Might need one little clearance ding near the right side torsion bar. Might be able to shift the motor over.

All in all, not hard just takes some time. But I didn't rush. Older and slower. Enjoyed the project. Still need to finish up tomorrow. High quality product and they fit great!
Thanks to FABO and those that had already shared their experience!

let us know if they vibrate or rattle on those torsion bars, im trying to decide between Dougs, TTi's or factory HP's.

I have the Qa1 k frame, manual steering, and a 340 with headman which rattle and bang on everything underneath. They were on the car when purchased and were damaged from hitting dips or bumps it looks.

i intend on changing steering box which while im down there.

thanks for your pictures too. nice car!

Thanks!
Fired it up yesterday, no rattles. Its close but had enough room after re-tightening the motor mounts and headers.

anyway you slice it headers on a A body is somewhat of a pain. But it's behind you now and it is always a performance increase.let us know how it giddy UPS

Finally getting a lift at 57 years old made this job way easier. Actually enjoyable.
The giddy up is very noticeable. The old 318 log manifolds had the 360 corked up. After finishing up the exhaust and replacing the sloppy tie rod ends, and a little carb and timing tune, I took it for a test drive. And noticed immediately the difference. And that I totally missed on the alignment, lol. Will fix that tomorrow.

Used some generic Dynomax intermediate pipes from the collectors to the mufflers, but they angled down to much. So I cut and adjusted the angle then re-welded them. Tucked the mufflers up tight as I could get them.

Sounds good. Actually quieter than the manifolds I think?

post #6, 4th and 5th picture...is that the final way you are routing that cable?

love the way the pipes exit, I just did the same on my duster
I think some chrome 45s would really make it look good

Thank-you! You got me thinking about chrome tips, looks good.

Good eye. No, the starter wires are already rerouted so they can't touch the header. Plus after looking at my own picture I realized I forgot to heat shrink the terminal lugs on the starter. Duh.
