My New Rad

Pretty excited about the "new" 22" rad in my 65 Vart. Just took the car out for a blast and it never touched 180. Works great!! What a difference from the little six banger rad. Back of the thermostat housing still sweats a bit, Ive done everything humanly possible to stop that. No biggie. Car runs great! Can anyone suggest a half decent aftermarket cowl.

Cowl? where did that come from? I meant shroud. A non-warping after market shroud:colors:

What did you end up doing with your fan delema?Obviously you got it solved!Just a new rad?$$$$$$$.

Hey Scott, Got a flex-o-lite 1" spacer from Summit, fit perfect I used all of the factory rad support mounting holes. Drilled two holes in the rad mounting bracket at the bottom, two top ones lined up perfect. 65 was the first year AC cars got a 22 incher so the opening in the Rad support is perfect (about 23 inches) Looks like it was meant to be there. I am going to PM you about that duster I was interested in. Someone is going to get a hell of a deal.

That,s strange?When I first read your post it said fan shroud,now says cowl?WTF??

Congrats your lucky to have found a rad for a 8 cylinder not too many around here!
