Near new built 727 - not driving thru 3rd gear....

Hi guys I have a almost new 727 with the following parts:

Rebuilt by Lofgren about 3-4 yrs ago
Kolene steels
Alto clutches
not sure which bands off the top of my head
Steel drum
B&M deep pan
Griner RMVB
UCC convertor
PPP shifter
Fresh Type F fluid. With the pan off it looked ultra clean inside, as mentioned it has had very little use.

Shifts into and drives thru all the gears fine with the car on stands but no drive in 3rd gear. Reverse is fine as well.

Any suggestions? It shifts into 3rd fine with the shifter itself as well.

I will check the shifter for proper adjustment again but would have thought that would'nt be the issue as getting drive in all gears except 3rd.

Any suggestions ?

chucks transmissions are usually bullet proof give him a call he is always willing to help .

I would check the shifter real good first .

Thanks - Im in Australia so I thought it d be easier to ask the qun here first I bought the trans off the guy who had it built by Chuck back then.

Any other thoughts?

I'd seriously check your shifter linkage real well. ....

The two mechanical components responsible for 3rd gear are the front and rear clutch. If you have 1st and 2nd the rear clutch is working. If you have reverse the front clutch is working. Double check the shifter as mentioned above. If that proves ok it has to be an issue within the valve body.
