I just scored a great offenhouser dual single barrel manifold and need a matching carb (good one or a rebuildable one with a good throttle shaft)

the back carb (one on the right)is the good one (or at least rebuildable)
the front one has worn out throttle shaft bushings(on left)
price "hopefully" not breaking the bank

pm me with price and shipping to 33597
thanks
Kurt

I have one that should match the one on the right. Do you have a number to match?

I'll have to look. where do the numbers show on the carb?
I have it over at a friends house and He'll be home tomorrow afternoon, I'll get the numbers than and PM ya. We're are setting up the linkages to the later style (cable actuated) instead of the 66 style (rod actuated)
I like the floating pedal on the later A's
thanks

The numbers should be stamped into the top of the main housing between the fuel inlet and bowl vent.

Cool thanks. I found em
the one I'd need to match to is.
12r4328b (1920)

the one I really like but need 2 of em is 12r55928

this one has a vented return on it, it seems like it would be better to use do to me being able to add a return vent to the tank/canister for fumes. but it's got a horrible throttle shaft leak.
I'll pm ya also

No, those are casting numbers. The ones you need to I.D. the carb are stamped in it. The early carb (the one one the right in your photo) has the numbers on top between the fuel inlet and the bowl vent. The carb on the left has the number stamped into the verticle surface below the bowl vent valve. I have some later 1920 carbs too if you would rather go that route.

OK I'll look to see if I can find the numbers and get back with you,
just to make sure where I'm looking

here for the older one I saw a ink stamped 159 on this one but that probably not what you need.

and here for the newer style
or on the side I'm not seeing in the picture

ummm if you have 2 matching later carbs I'd like to know how much you'd want for a matched set of re-buildable ones with good throttle shafts
that way I can jet em down to work on the manifold and vent them.
thanks

Your older carb looks like a Tomco rebuild so it might not have any numbers stamped into anymore. They sometimes bead blast those things to an inch of their lives! Both places you have circled are where the stampings should be. If there is nothing there, we'll just have to take our best guess as to application. I'll go look through mine and see if I have a matching pair.

I have six of thel 6260 versions which the book lists as late '70 and '71 models. They have the bowl vent valve and tube like your later carb. $75 for the pair plus the ride. These came off running engines but have been on the shelf for a while. They might bolt on and work the way they are but it's possible they might need a kit too. The throttle shafts are in decent shape.....some tighter than others but all are good enough to use as-is. I'll pick you the tightest two if you want.
Thanks, Mark
