My 66 Barracuda 4-speed is a good looking 20-footer and runs like a champ, but deep down is in need of a pretty thorough restoration.

I am having trouble figuring out exactly what trim colors match the original on the car, and where the heck to get them in a rattle can.

First off, the blue color that dwells behind the fish on my grill. I have a very nice original piece to replace my pitted yucky one, but it definately needs some fresh paint in the background to set it off.

Secondly, the eggshell-like finish (at least what is left of the finish) around my instrument cluster, radio bezel, glove box, etc. needs to be painted badly. I believe this is also the same paint that is on the top of my center console. Is this argent silver? I can't find any confirmation of this at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! --Byron :banghead:

If it's similiar to my '68 and I believe it is; the eggshell color you are talking about on the dash was actually chrome plated. The parts around the gauges and all the raised edgy looking areas. The interior part was argent silver. Do a search here on dashes there were earlier postings that had a couple of places listed that can do the re-chroming, it's expensive. I decided to paint mine with chrome spray paint, it looks better, but!. The argent silver I got from Summitt, MoparsbyCrane also has it. Peace

Thanks for the info. I will take a look at those sources. It is hard to say what the original scheme around the gauges was. It appears to be worn off with chrome plating underneath, but that doesn't seem to make much sense. I certainly don't want to spend the $$$ to have it chrome plated. I will probably do argent on both the gauges and the console. Hopefully that will look legit. Beautiful '68 by the way! Anybody else with a '66 have any more info?
