Hi all,

Thank you to everyone on the forum who helped me get this far! BUT... I am humbly in over my head with the wiring harness. Can you please recommend someone I can hire in New Mexico to help complete my swap? I am in Albuquerque but can tow/haul within the state.

64 Cuda
Donor: 97 Van
Engine 360, trans (46re) and fuel (tanks Inc) are in Cuda. All came from a running/driving donor van. I have the matching donor harness, computer, PDC, and want to keep the EFI. Any contacts you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any leads!!!
Robert

If you find someone who will at least give/sell you a wiring diagram, please post it here! I have a 98 model 5.9 with every piece of the under hood wiring, just like you do. There used to be a guy here who ran a business converting stock harnesses to work in older vehicles, and did a nice job of it for vehicles like yours that deserve a nice neat harness. I offered to pay him a more than fair price to just send me a wiring diagram to make my motor run in my old beater truck. Wouldn't do it! I tried to and was willing to pay him, and he acted like I was taking money out of his pocket. He ain't in business anymore. Wonder why? Good luck with your quest, and if you don't have any luck here, I think Hotwireauto.com makes and sells the harness you need.

I will let you know if/when I get a wiring diagram. Thanks for the hotwireauto tip, I will check it out!

Hotwire just might be a reasonable solution for you. I would use their harness in a heartbeat if I was doing something nice. I just don't want to spend more on a harness than I did on the truck, and low mile 5.9 Magnum combined....lol. It takes 4 or 5 wires in the original wiring to make it run, and I just need some help getting steered in the right direction.

I agree that Hotwire is looking like a good solution.

Are you using the donor fuse box/relays. ?
That's the only way to mount it simple like ..basically you need to power the
Pcm
Fuel pump
Starter
Asd relay/engine relay
And then ground the pcm

C1. #2 12v run start
C1 .#22 always 12v constant
C31. Ground
C32 ground

Jump the starter

@vegasanthony , yes...I have every piece of the harness, including the fuse/relay box, and all of the factory grounds. The only thing I don't have is the OBD2 plug that was under the dash. My motor and all the wiring came from a 98 model 3500 Dodge dually with a 6 speed stick. I hope to get a wiring diagram from a friend who has All Data at his shop, and then I can trace out what you told me above to make it work. I'm not afraid of wiring, and don't mind doing it. I just like knowing what I'm doing, so I can do it right the first time...instead of the "Try and fry" method....lol. I appreciate your help! Robcuda….I apologize for the hijack here, but hopefully this will help you too.

Haynes and Chilton manuals are available for purchase from most auto parts stores. They usually have wiring diagrams. These are usually around twenty dollars. As of today, a Haynes manual is listed on rockauto.com for 14.95. It's under the category Literature.

I bought the Haynes book..its worthless the only diagram of any value is the starting/ charging page and that is easily found on the web for free..alldatadiy has way better printable pages and diagrams..

Well crap, Haynes must be saving money by no longer paying for wiring diagrams.
Bishko sells electronic copies of factory service manuals. Lots of factory service manuals on eBay too.
Be careful posting copyright protected materials, like pages from service manuals. It safest to draw it by hand and then post it.

Thanks for the input! Yes, I plan to use the relay box and pcm from donor.

Have you seen these downloads? - ALL 2nd Gen Service manuals in PDF!

Didn't try them myself, but several years ago I was able to find a .pdf version of several FSM's online. Not certain that is where I got mine, but you might give it a try.

Ah ha, I think this is where I got mine. Looks like the same links, and I tried the 1998 FSM and it still worked. 2nd Generation Dodge Ram Service Manuals - DodgeForum.com

Here is a good read you might like and help you with your install.

5.9 FI Magnum swap in 73 swinger
This is a great write-up. I read this a while back and it convinced me to keep my stock fuel rails and use a pressure regulator and return line. I had hoped to use the stock fuel pump from the donor but didn't make a lot of sense with the older Cuda's trunk design (folding partition, etc).
