Guys, trying to figure out what size tires to put on my daily driver, 04 ram 1500 shortbed, it has the factory 20s and I would like to see pics of one of these trucks that has been lowered, and has a lower profile tire. Internet searching wasnt much help... thanks!!

if you are going to stay with your factory rims.....just a tidbit I learned.

Dodge specifically made the 20" Alloy rims, 9.5" wide.
Not 20x7's like the aftermarket 20" tires fit.

If you want new tires....the choices are limited to what will properly fit the factory 20" rim.

Our trucks come with 275/60/20 radials.

Michelin and Goodyear offer the only OEM matching size.
I priced the Michelins and they were $1300 mounted and balanced.
I priced the Goodyears and they were $1225 m/b.

I ended up going with a full set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR ORWL 60K tires.
They are 275/55/20 and cost me $800 m/b.
They are .25" shorter than the factory 275/60/20 and end up giving a 60 mph corrected MPH at 58.9 for a difference of -1.2 mph at 60.

I have not looked into finding out if the PCM can be recalibrated for the slightly shorter tire.

Thats what I learned through my late model truck tire experience.
Good Luck. I'll get a pic up later when I wash that dusty,
Dirty Black Hemi Ram.

This was my 05 Ram 2/4 drop with 305/40/22. If your going to run the stock 20's the 275/60 will clear on a 2/4 drop but look too big. I would run a 45 series tire maybe a 295/45/20.

The pcm can be recalibrated and Dodge used the 55 series tire on the Ram also.

My pics are under a thread..........introducing bones64......lowered 2 front with a 5 inch rear flip. 20 inch rim 265/65 tires i believe......All the best

I have had Mastercraft LSR tires on my truck since the Goodjunk tires wore out.Have been very happy with them. Also Jet makes a adjustable speedo calibrator.
