Hello,
I will be most grateful if someone can help me figure out what I bought,
I purchased a 5.7 hemi with awd Trans last week. It had caught fire and everthing above the valve covers melted. I was told it was out of a 2015 300c. After some checking, I am under the impression that no 5.7 hemi option was available in awd, so I believe it is older. I looked around the block near the pan and have not seen any stamped numbers. I did find a Barcode label on the transmission with the number
TI2TJ127460112 and p5210848OAK. If the first number is the engine sn, I think it may actually be a 2004?
I will look again on the block for a stamping somewhere.

After removing the blob that once was the intake manifold, I see 4 solenoid looking modules in the block galley. Is that for mds?

I was looking for a gen3 to put in my 72 demon. I have tons of experience with rb and LA engines, but non with the new hemis.
thx in advance

5.7's were available AWD until 2014-15. Look at the oil pan. Should have bosses and a pass through, that's where the front differential would bolt. And the left axle through the pan. Yes, the blobs would be MDS. Should be another solenoid going into the block, behind water pump/timing cover, for the VVT phaser.

Sounds like a 2006-2009 5.7L hemi. The 300's did come 5.7 with AWD and would have plastic intake and valve covers.

Any pictures of the front timing cover? We could tell car vs truck that way.

Surely there must be casting no's etc...............?

The for the feedback so far.I am headed out to the shop to try and get more info. The Trans and differential are still attached, so it makes it just a tad tougher to get a good view everywhere.

I took a pic of the front and in valley. I am going to separate the trans and differential from the engine to get a better view of the block for any serial numbers.

2009 or newer car 5.7. Has the bigger square intake ports, Eagle heads. In the bottom pic you can see the VVT solenoid in the middle of the valley, behind the "birdhouse". Good start for your project.

Thanks for the responses. You were all very helpful. Thank you!
I separated the transmission today and got the Hemi on an engine stand.
Now that I know I have a vvt engine, I will begin a new thread with questions regarding which option to pursue for the build.
