Has anybody had non-starting problems caused by a bad n. safety switch?I can jump the car by the starter relay.Any help or advise would be appreaciated.Just got this car and the PO has really messed up some of the wiring.Thanks.Oh yeah starter relay is new but car won,t start by key.

the starter relay needs to be chassis grounded via its mounting screws and probably is. There are 2 small wires on the relay yellow from the switch gets 12V from switch in start position. The brown wire gets grounded at the neutral safety switch. Check the yellow with a test light. If that proves good Put a jumper wire to ground on the brown wire terminal and try it. Be forwarned that it can start in gear while jumper is attached.

Ground the n saftey terminal on the starter switch, if it starts then buy a new n safety switch unscrew the old from the trans and install the new one.

If buy grounding the switch terminal it doesn't start, you need to look at the ignition switch it's self [where the key go's] or it's wiring.
If it turns over with no spark, try the ballast.

If as you said the PO messed with the wiring, I would take a look at the ignition switch and associated wiring before suspecting the NSS. also it should be easy enough to bypass the nss to rule it out.
