Tomorrow I pick up my reconditioned A-body 8 1/4 SG 3.21.1 ratio rear end. looking forward to the swap with the exception that I now own a SBP KH front disc conversion and a set of 4 SBP Ralley's complete with rings & centers and the new rear end is LBP. I am thinking of taking the axles to
the local machine shop to see if they can reinstall the studs on a 5 X 4 pattern. Complicated business this A-Body stuff! ;-)

Well I picked up my rear end today looks good and definatly a SG Diff. Now I will find out if my machine shop can change the axles & drums from LBP to SBP. I will talk to them this week.

Yeah, I thought of that but since I have a 70 duster SBP disc conversion in hand and 4 nice SBP ralleys with centers & rings, I thought I would check it out. I guess it is a good problem to have and I know the local machinist who would do the work. We shall see----------;-)

dont forget the center register of the axle will need to be turned down as well leaving a large hole in the center of the drum so it will now only be located by stud holes unless u only have him turn down a portion of the center to hold the drum...

Good point, looking at it it looks like there is room but I will have to take the stuff into the machine shop & see what they say. May not be feasable------
good excuse to buy a set of 15" LBP ralleys for the rear and leave the 14" on the front. Maybee fuss with the stance a little bit or something.
Again, good problem to have:)

yes...or if u have nice 14" tires for the rear already u could just get 2 big bolt 14" also...i think anything will be better and cheaper than going to the machine shop in this case... :)
