Thought I'd toss this up here because I'm loving the noise the new exhaust makes and I thought you guys would too. The new set up is 2.25" pipe from the manifold back headed into a turbo style muffler and then the same 2.25" pipe out the back

check it out and let me know what you guys think!

Thanks for that preview. I like it. I pretty much have all the parts for a 2-1/4" system for my 64 225 using a Dynomax super turbo. I'd prefer mine to end up a little quieter to stay with the sleeper image but I'll live with that.
I threw the remains of the original system on just to put some miles on the new engine and promptly blew the bottom out of the puny round muffler so it's pretty much wide open right now and louder than yours.

Thanks KosmicKuda, I'm liking it a lot. I was initially worried that the turbo muffler would kill all the noise and make it a little too tame for my taste, but I'm glad that's not the case. Maybe a resonator would help take some of the noise down for you? My stock system had the same issue, but instead of sounding loud and angry with the blown muffler it had a pretty distinct "put put put" noise and stunk of the cabin hahaha

Sounds nice. I also like that you have the original-type starter on it. Yeah, the mini-starters are faster and lighter and all that jazz, but they jest don't sound right. Probably because some of my earliest memories are of being strapped into an infant seat in the back of my folks' '70 Slant-6 Dart (or my grandfather's '72) and hearing that starter.

I resisted going to a mini starter for many years for just that reason. But my 225 has a mini on it now because I got the car with a bad regular starter so I thought I'd try one. (The seller said he had replaced it with a good used one, yeah right) The sound is not as bad as I thought. When warm, my rebuilt Slant starts with just a touch of the key with no throttle and you can barely hear it spin anyway. Usually if I have the opportunity to simplify or save weight, I'll do it as long as it has Mopar genes. I've resisted moving the fuel line and filter because the original lines cleaned up so well. I have the fittings to do the /6Dan reroute but im waiting to see if i have a problem in hot weather. To a casual observer the engine looks stock but a Mopar guy will notice things like that.
            Sorry to hijack the thread.

It cracks me up sometimes when watching old movies or TV reruns and I hear the distinctive Chrysler starter when a GM or Ford car is started. The sound guys insert sound effects during editing and they must think the Chrysler sound is the best. Rrrrrrrrrrr.

I love the sound of your /6 Demon with the 2.25" exhaust, you really did it well. When I was deciding what to do on my new exhaust system on my /6 powered 70 Dodge Challenger. I ended up putting on Hooker headers 3 into 1, ( the pavement dragging kind ). Off each collector 2.25" aluminized pipe ,so a real dual exhaust system w/ "H" pipe. There into 2 cherry bomb glasspacks. Around the gas tank exiting through chrome, cuda style, tips( under the rear valance ). It does sound great, I'll vouche for that. Almost has a V8 resonance from the back. By the way I have a light weight starter ( Nippondenso ) ready to go in. Sure it will be just fine.
