New Guy from West Texas

Hello, new guy from West Texas . I have a 72 Swinger ,building a 69 340 and I have a question .The conn. rods and caps have a notch for oiling opposite side bore on the mating surface right ? The new clevite bearings do not have a notch . My book says to make sure notch is positioned correctly so oiling occurs. In fact I have not seen any bearings with this provision . Is my book outdated ? Does anyone know if these bearings will work o.k. ?
