New instrument cluster

I've been having some problems with my stock dash and cluster. The dash panel in which the instruments reside is itself breaking down heavily. It chips pieces off daily.

Additionally and more importantly, many of the instruments themselves are dodgy or just plain don't work. Water temp works most of the time, but is extremely hard to see behind the yellowed glass, volts are also hard to see, and fuel level rarely works at all. Further, and of ultimate importance, the speedometer and odometer don't work. This could cause issues. Expensive issues called tickets.

So I have decided to replace the panel itself with a Redline Gauge Works panel, then stuff it with Auto Meter instruments. My questions come thusly after my long-winded explanation:

Does my '71 Demon slant-six/904 come with sensors for short-sweep electrical gauges?

Are any of these gauges going to cause me issues with any of the stock equipment

I want to install a speedometer, tachometer, water temp, fuel level, oil pressure, voltometer, turn signals, and high beam indicator. I just wanted to make sure that every gauge I have will have or can have a sensor fitted to accomodate electric gauges.

Have you tried calling or emailing Redline? I've been in touch with these guys on a different issue, and they've been very helpful. I'm actually planning on the same change as you in a few months, and I'll probably buy the gauge pod and gauges from them, and have them set it all up.

Post a pic when you have it all done.
 
Definitely ask the guys at Red Line, they are great and will do you right. I just got my rally cluster back from them, had them change the center small tach to a gas and volt, and then put a big tach in the spot were the 4 gauges went all in white face. I am vary impressed, it looks great I will post some pics, but cant find my camera charger.

How about some photos of your new cool dash gauges !
 
You'll need to swap out idiot light oil pressure sending unit for one that works with guage. Fuel guage needs to be compatible with Mopar unit (same resistance range from empty to full). Check water temp sending unit & replace if it's caked in crud.
Yellowed "glass" can be cured with multiple runs of polishing with Brasso (works on plastic convertible rear windows, too). Go slow. Don't use a machine to buff as it may warp or cut plastic.
Mr. G's can provide a re-plated instrument cluster. However, you'll need a good core. I don't recall if he replaces the "glass" too.
 
What's a Mr. G's and what is the cost for the cluster redone?

Nevermind, googled them and they came right up. Should have tried that
first....
 
All the sending units need to be replaced with ones designed for the gauges. The level of resistance may and will most likely be different than stock. VDO, Auto Meter, Stewart Warner, etc. all might be different than each other.

FYI, this part has nothing to do with Redline. The gauges should come with the appropriate sending units.
 
i believe the fuel gauge should be a 73-10, thats what my research told me so thats what i bought for a stock sender. Havnt installed them yet But im sure there is a way to check the sender with a multimeter.
 
Yes, correct on the fuel gauge. Same with the temp/oil gauges though. The sender's resistance has to match the gauge. Not all aftermarket gauges work with the stock gauges.
