ok just thought ide post some pics and info,,,

i know this item has been brought to market by another vendor in the past years,,and was super pricey,,, now ma mopar has there own DIZZY set up for the gen 3 hemi,s...the plus side is a mechanical fuel pump port,,

i took these pics at the 2012 auto rama car show,,and as usuall the reps there from mopar new nothing,,, i called and talked with them,,, they say the part number has a greeen light,,,but not available yet,,,hoping late spring,,

i told them if the price is as high as arringtons is,, no use building it,,there are cheaper ways to do this then the 2 grand arrington was asking for there kit,,

they told me they are shooting for 800 to 1000 for the timing cover and gears to run the dizzy,,,but that doesnt include the dizzy,,,or a new keyed or degreed balancer,,,which they do not have,,, mopar thinks you can run the stock,,non keyed or degreed balancer,, or go to an after market unit,,also the engineer that desiged this unit let mopar,,and now works for jegs,,im assuming the prostock team,,

they claim the dizzy is a ford unit,,,looks way to tall to me to be a ford unit,,, but i thought ide pass this info along,,,here are some pics,,

Just an observation, but where do you put the alt???

I would rather have the valve covers...

I just don't see the need, nor the point. You can buy a standalone controller for the ignition from MSD or FAST, all for 1/2 the price of this vaporware, or a 1/4 of the price Arrington is asking.

Further, you go from a coil on plug design in which a single coil fires a single cylinder to an ignition system in which a single coil fires all eight cylinders. Thus, you get LESS spark.

Let's run down the facts of this system.

More expensive, less performance, tell me why ANYONE would buy this?

Other than the cool eye candy, I dont see why, but people have different tastes.

I've got about 2 dozen small blocks sitting around with distributers, mechanical fuel pumps, and carburaters. Why in the world would I want to spend all that money to make a new Hemi look and act the same as a 30 year old motor that I have plenty of?:wack:

Fail.

Why not develope it to use a bb Mopar distributer? IMO just more over priced half assed backwards Chrysler crap. Oh well. Maybe they will be better than expected..

i guess the advantage is you could run a chrome box ecu rather than one for the 8-coil systemss. so i'm guessing this is to put a gen 3 hemi crate engine in any vehicle at a lower cost?

i just don't understand why you would run a modern hemi and go with a carb and distribitor. if i'm going modern hemi then i'm also taking advantage of all the modern technology. may as well just build a stroked small block if your gonna put a carb on the damn thing.

if I ( and I speak only for myself ) would run injection I would never pass inspection or the officials would rate me very high with taxes per year approx 2000 USD. Keep the historical look the taxes are ( and what I pay ) 200 USD.

Different question: How does it look under the cover? Still 2 spark plugs per cylinder?

exactly:wack:

i didnt notice that there wasnt a place for the alt or a/c brackets when i seen it in person,,,and i didnt remember to ask when i talked to the tech people at mopar,

i do agree now there are cheaper and more effective ways to lite one of these modern motors then the dizzy conversation,,,but i have seen a few of arringtons kits out there already, i seen one in a high dollar E body at this event,,and there is a 33 ply street rod in my area running one and it is pretty kool looking,, but at 800 to a grand for the cover and gears,,,not including the dizzy ide guess we are talking 12 to 1500 when all is said and done, using a after market lower pulley/balancer,,,ans i also like the valve covers,,,,oh,,the techs at mopar argued the fact that the computers for these motors is not cam change friendly liker the dizzy is,,,

now a 2 headed dizzy would be the ticket ,,lol
