The instructions on my new Pertronix 1.5 ohm 40,000 volt coil says to eliminate the ballast resister. I have the MP Orange box Electronic Ignition conversion.
Do I need to eliminate the ballast resister or just bolt the new coil up?

Thanks,

Jim Davis

The coil does not require a ballast. If you do not eliminate you won't get the full potential of the coil. It's very simple to do, just put a mail spade connector on each end of a short piece of wire then unplug the ballast and plug the jumper in in it's place.
