Recently picked this up...pretty clean little 65 GT just needs a little time spent on it.Already changed pass quarter regulator, retumbled driver door lock & ignition....3 keys gets old fast!! now all I have left to do before the MATS is find another deck lid (anybody know where I can find one)...rewire & swap to electronic ign...rebuild frontend...disc brake swap....swap to a manual box.
I'm sure I will be doing alot of cussing :banghead:....but it will all be worth it in the end!! :burnout:

My wife...she fell in love with it when she saw it...2,000.00 birthday present. Once I get all the important stuff updated...then look out everybody she's on the loose!!! HEHE

Two keepers - the wife and the car! :) It sounds like she knows a good thing when she sees it, and that's a nice looking 65. It's a shame the lid got scrunched, but I'm sure you'll be able to find a replacement. Good luck.
 
nice ride. maybe you'll have it ready for the spring fling if you're not bringing the other cars
 
Hey Dave, the disc brake parts I got from you are being used on the GT...I'm going to use an alterktion on my 70. glad to see that nice little vert is getting closer to being done. The wife wants to take it to the MATS...so you know its got to be done or else its the :axe: ..HEHE

The funny thing is that this is the wrong lid for it...it had been hit before, the guy I got it from bought it for his daughter and the first time she drove it she got rearended.
 
Good lookin Dart...I have a 65 deck lid and may have associated trim...it will need a rust repair on the lower lip, I've got 3 deck lids all rusted in the same spot. Only problem I can see is that I'm 2600 miles away. I had a friend in Vallejo some years back that had a wrecking yard called Sunshine Auto Wreckers and in the early 80's he was trying to save some old cars. We would haul the oddballs, wrecks, etc.. to the docks in Oakland and sell them for scrap but anything he thought might be worth something he tried to keep it. Don't know if he's still there, real estate prices went crazy after I left and he may have cashed out. Might be worth a try though.

Cool man glad they are being used. I thought they were for the Swinger but I guess you have new plans for it now. Tell your wife I said hello. Was nice meeting you guys when you came through. I'm sure MATS will be great. My car won't be ready unfortunately.

WOW. the dropped RAM is nice, but i gotta say the wife distraced me. Very beautiful lady.
 
Thanks. NICE! 65's I forgot you name, Neal isn't it? We done some horse trading awhile back. You wouldn't have run onto any more of those in black have you?
