Hi all, just received my new steering box. I was trying to turn the spline and its awfully hard to turn by hand, is this normal?
also does it come filled with grease already, i know i should call PST with my questions but after placing my order with them i dont care to ever call there again, unprofessional IMHO...Rich

Remember, it's 1 to 20 if you're trying to turn the pitman arm. Even on the steering spline end, it won't be easy unless you have an 8- or 9-inch lever arm attached.

hehehehe, i was just trying to turn it by hand.....

I went through 2 before I got a good one. 16:1, though.

1 wasn't adjusted correctly.(Easy fix) and one had a weird hard spot turning by hand. I dont agree with having to have a bar on it. Should yrun pretty easy by hand. Do a search for this, many have experienced it with their boxes.

They did make it right, no questions asked, but it stinks to delay the project.

Ugh. Just found out PST got bought out. I doubt the new company will stand behind any kind of warranty, after reading the thread about honoring website and forum pricing.

Well i protected the splines and used some pliars, turned pretty smooth and easy.....felt good, hope im ok because i want to paint and clear it

They should have a tight spot on center. Also be tight because it's new.

A new manual box should not turn easy by hand.

And they don't turn easy from the pitman arm side either. If it did it wouldn't go down the road very well.
