Just talked with Qa1 bout the new K frame , said they started shipping this week anyone got one yet and how are they going to do:D

well they did a great job keeping it a secret because i dont think many of us have heard about it!

Saw the K frame today at MOPARS IN THE PARK. Thinking of of erring it. The whole thing is sweeeeet. Price is right too

No secret and nothing new about it. They bought CAP Auto a few years ago. http://www.qa1.net/news/2011/08/01/qa1-acquires-cap-auto-products/

You do remember the thread on here about the problems with CAP's stuff and broken welds. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=87920 There's a couple other threads that I can't find right now.

I'm hoping QA1 has made some improvements. I know they won't be shipping stuff with crappy weld or things like that. I'm sure the quality will be top notch. This is the one I'd be interested in - tubular K-frame with rack and pinion steering and the use of torsion bars. :headbang:

Wylde1.

I have known for a year now. I was calling every month to find out when they would be released. I was told next month every time. I finally got tired of waiting a bought a factory one and cleaned it up and painted it.

I was told they revamped it big time by beefing it up in high stress areas.

Wonder what the weight difference is. One of these and all of Dillingers components would be nice.

Why is the b/e body twice as much??

Exactly the spool mounts are far superior
Would rather use a braced up spool mount k frame than this
It is probably more of an eye candy thing since its tubular

This. I've fallen in love with my particular stocker-based frame, and it's a beefed Firm Feel piece.

That was exactly my plan but from what I've heard John stopped producing the suspension kits.
I never looked all that closely, but it looked like most of his stuff copied stuff designed by others.

I'm sorry but that was out of line.... Ok sure his were jig built from stock mopar stuff... Sure everyone uses tubular stuff.

x2. Bet you won't find another set of lowers for a Mopar that are like John's! And, how do you think QA1 or RMS designed their stuff....on fixtures designed after STOCK Mopar mounting locations, etc. Also, bet you can't find em as good a'quality as John's for the price either.

Don't understand why others have to tear down or discount the work of others when that person is trying to do the Mopar community a favor.:thumbdow:

I don't think he's completely stopped making them, just on a break for a bit until things at home/work settle down.

Now that I've looked at it closely:

Adjustable strut rods

Heim-joint tie-rods

Adjustable upper arms (aside from the billions out there, granted)....Can you tell who made what? Hint: there's a sticker.

Inner fender braces?

Dillengers' are nearly identical to the QA1's, except triangulated and heim-jointed.

You guys are right...no similarities of any kind.

Seriously, you guys are so ready to jump on the Dillinger boat and I don't see anything new or special going on there. It's typical fab-shop level stuff with no real engineering behind it. Anybody with some welding experience, a tube bender, and some machine tools can make what he's making (Well, you'd need an internet connection to look at what everyone else is making, first). I'm just not impressed. Sorry.

I do see some things coming from his shop that would make any engineer cringe, though.

Dillingar is still making his stuff just not at an express rate or rush anymore. He might just want to be with his family more and its take away from that? I can't remember its been several weeks or mnths sense I've talked via pm's with him.

The qa1 stuff doesn't sell with their quality control being ****. I'm sure they did rigorous testing to make it a quality piece for sure. Just based on the amount of time they have owned the stuff and its time it took to hit the sales floor. Far superior product by now. With there lower priced k member and dillingers control arms I'm smiling again. Sure is gonna be fun.

So who's the first guineas pig gonna be?

Are you an Engineer?
