New to Mopar & First Project Car

Quick intro, my name is Rick but online I go by Sham. Love cars & speed but a wife and 5 kids puts a huge dent into both time and disposable income. Now all but twins are grown, I just picked up my first project classic; seller says it's a 1975 Plymouth Duster with 380, which I think is true, but from what I have read, I am thinking it may have been the economy Gold Duster someone just threw a V8 360 into and homemade paint job. Regardless I have fallen in love, on the way home from purchase, the dashboard lights didn't work, the wife clocked me above 110 at one point. Now my challenge now is being disabled and unable to do most of the work myself, so trying to find the right mechanic/shop who is dedicated to detail and doing the job right. I am looking forward to great stories & info from you MOPAR Diehards on here. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome from Minnesota. Nice car, but what's up with that little wing, stolen off a Kia?

110? Nice, that's a good number to hit, must have highway gears.
 
Glad to have you here looks like a nice ride and 5 kids are a blessing mostly with twins.
I tried and failed to have twins but I have 8 and just getting back in my passion for cars.
Have fun here Rick a good place to get info and find good friends.
 
Rick with your new ride your off to a great start. Good luck, go slow, and it will all come together.
Go to couple car shows and if you see something you like ask who did the work.
Check the nearest MOPAR club, or car club, and see if they recommend a shop or two.
 
my god look at that wiring.id venture to say its been into a time or two.your dash lights are probably just a simple light switch,easy peezy.good luck.welcome
 
Welcome! I see a few things wrong already. That wing has to go. Your fan blades are bent, maybe a random fan off of something and they did that just to make it clear the radiator hoses?? Black engine bay, must have been previously owned by a Chevy guy??

At any rate, all that can be fixed little by little with minimal expense! You have come to the right place!

Welcome aboard, both to the site and to the world of the A body. Good looking car to start off, but the "Mopar Purists" will be all over all the things that aren't "correct". Enjoy it, make it safe and reliable and fun, ain't nothin better than having fun with your wheels IMO.

Cool! Welcome from Texas!! I saw that your car has a truck manifold on drivers side. Are both sides from same year truck? I wasn't aware those fit an a body.

Honestly I was not aware it was a truck manifold, how did you spot that lol? I am most likely going to rebuild that motor or swap it out with a new one, I want somewhere around 350-400hp and fuel injection, eventually.

What color are traditional Plymouth engine bays?

I spotted truck manifold because my dad has a 1976 ramcharger and his exhaust is just like on your car. Only seen this style on trucks. Supposed to be a good flowing manifold.
 
Are both sides of manifolds similiar in shape like distinct ribs down the sides? Sometimes people will use dissimilar manifolds because of fitment constraints.
